Challenge
  • Manual end-of-line packaging process
  • Tight production space
  • Delicate products requiring gentle handling
Solution
Result
  • High output with less manpower
  • Reduced product damage thanks to controlled drop system

It all started when Enzo’s father discovered Pattyn at a trade show and immediately saw the potential. “He saw the case erector and the bag inserter and instantly fell in love with the machine,” Enzo recalls.

Despite the limited space, Pattyn looked for an ideal solution. Today, the production process is optimized across two levels. Pastries exit the production line onto a conveyor, go through the freezer, and are then transported to the upper floor. There, the products are counted and immediately the correct quantity is dropped into the box. The ground floor hosts the automated case erector, bag inserter, MEC system for gentle product flow, and case closer.

“The MEC holds the products back and helps control the drop, so they don’t get damaged,” explains Enzo. Before automation, someone always had to stay with the machine. Now the machine operates autonomously; there’s nog need for some to monitor it constantly.

“We can maintain the same production level with fewer employees,” he adds. “Pattyn really found a great solution and customized the machine to fit our needs and our space. Their customer service is also excellent, we can always count on their support.” Gaussin’s team fully recommends Pattyn for companies looking to optimize their packaging with care and efficiency.
